Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan (or “Grand Ultimate Fist”) is an ancient Chinese Martial Art, and when performed in a slow and relaxed manner like moving meditation, calms the mind and releases the mental and physical tensions of our modern stressful lifestyle. Studies have shown that daily practice of Tai Chi is a great form of exercise for men and women of all ages and levels of physical fitness. For practicing Martial Artists, Tai Chi is great way to cross-train, complement, and create balance between “hard” and “soft” techniques.
Students that study Tai Chi at the Plum Blossom Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy, are privileged to be a part of the most comprehensive and authentic Tai Chi program in Winnipeg. We teach the complete Yang style Tai Chi system, with focus on the Tai Chi essentials and best practices as passed down by Yang Cheng Fu. We are proud & honored to have solid roots in the Yang Tai Chi lineage, as Sifu Eric Wallman and Tai Sifu Neil McRitchie, are direct students under Grandmaster, Doc Fai Wong, President of the Plum Blossom International Federation. Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong, has over 40 years of Tai Chi experience, and he is also a second-generation disciple of Yang Cheng-Fu, having studied under Dr. Hu Yuen-Chou, a closed-door disciple of Yang Cheng-Fu.
